Now that you are here what are your thoughts on the cold situation ?
dam computer I will stop now.
Why won't the FAA allow them for use on us registered a/c

We carry lithium ion batteries all the time. They must be in a device though, phones, tablets, medical device.
No shipping of bulk batteries, to the FAA their is only one class and it's lithium ion batteries.
The 787 is still using lithium ion batteries in the plane!!!
I have never seen a incident where a lithium battery on a boat has burned up. Chris Lanes boat was not caused by the battery!!

Joe what kind of charger requirements are needed for the batteries?
Joe knows best!
back to the original question, ill ask the lithium experts .. could you take a small 3-1 ratio transformer and connect the 36v to the 12 to use for emergency jumping scenario mentioned in the beginning of this thread??
sorry, the question I was referring to was in another thread about being able to use the 36v lithium to jump the 12v starting battery in an emergency...
Chargers made specifically for Lithium batteries are best because they fully terminate when the battery is full and reduces stress on the cells. Charging and holding the batteries at 100%should be avoided.Lithium batteries should not be left on a charger extended periods of time. However you can also charge our Lithium batteries with a typical lead acid charger specifically made for use with "Gel" batteries Not to be confused with AGM or Maintenance free. "Gel" chargers or chargers with the "Gel setting will work. That is for 12v! Our 24V and 36V Lithium batteries have chargers specific to them,as most people do not have those charger Voltages.

Running 2, optima group 27 batteries now. They are going bad but I can't imagine why as they are only going on 8 years old. I need to put the stern of my boat on a diet and am considering Lithium. What would replace these 2 batteries with something similar plus a stand alone charger cost? (not mounting in boat)
Huh, apparently it's a point of contention between airbus and the Feds. They want more safeguards than Airbus feels are necessary. Glad we scrubbed the Dreamliner though.

Or maybe He was actually answering other correspondence?? Heck maybe He actually went fishing
If you have been around aviation for a little while you can remember when NiCad had issues also when they first came out!!
