    1999 Javelin Renegade speeed issues

    I have a 1999 Javelin Renegade 20 with a 200 Evinrude. Speeds vary a ton on this boat. Some days I get 67-69. Others I can barely get 62. 71 is fastest I've seen on GPS. But weight doesn't seem to be the issue. I've run 68 with 3/4 fuel and 2 220 lb guys in the boat. Turn around the next day and only got 63 with just me and 1/4 tank of fuel. I think it is weak trim. Reason is motor hops when trimming down. And when the speed is slow I can't feel the boat "jump" up on the pad. Any thoughts?

    What shape is your prop in ...may have some damage or lost cup ?

    more info on your setup? what prop? prop to pad?
    i have a 2000 renegade 20, with a 200 johnson an best ive have got out of it was 64. with a 25p 4 blade trophy i think it is. about 3 inch ptp
    my trim bounces down as well.
    do your rpm's stay the same or are you down on rpm's when the boat is running slower?

    my 20ss with a 200hp ficht before talons ran 69 and change on a gps with a worked 25 p prop--it was re-hulled under warranty with a javelin hull I was told--was never as fast as original hull but did everything else much better

    ,all these motors hop it seems mine has since new and I have torqued the nut will no results

    i think im going to make a thread asking about the motor specifically. such as what makes an h.o. model, how can i beef mine up a little..
