    Spot thief

I was accused of fishing in another guys spot. I made a run Sunday morning to an underwater sand point. Got there not another boat in sight. Started fishing up the break, about 15 minutes later a guy and his son pull up and tell me I am in his spot. I already had 2 in the well so I ask him just how long this had been his spot. He tells me that he found this place about 10 years ago so I had to leave. So being a nice guy I told him I would leave but just for his information I had been fishing that point since the late 1950's when my grandfather showed it to me so I think I am grandfathered in on this spot. Made him so mad that he put his boat on the trailer and left. Showed real sportsmanship to his son.

You should never run someone off his spot. It has happened to me a few time already this year. IMO if someone is fishing a spot you leave them alone. If I fished a spot for 20 years and a guy is sitting there when I go out in the morning guess what. It's his spot. I will go find some other piece of water.

I cannot stand being crowded by folks.

No chance I would have left unless I was planning on moving anyway.

Good sportsmanship and how to be a bully. No need for that garbage anywhere especially on the water.

In public waters, there is no "my spot". The audacity of him to even think so. He can kiss off! You never come up to a boat and tell them to move and say that's your spot!

Did you even read the OP's post before responding?

That is what I still refer to as Southern manners.

I would have believed it if you said it was a walleye fisherman but I haven't seen a bass fisherman in Michigan in years lol

Nope happened in a tournament last Sunday morning. I have seen this guy before and is a guy who thinks he owns whatever lake he is fishing.

    We wouldn't have left.

We may have initiated a casting contest, though.
