Exhaust question

I have a 98 efi 2.5 all of a sudden the motor got reel loud coming out the exhaust and doesn't seem to idle right seems to run fine top end but it sure is loud something going on what should I check thanks guys

tuner may have broken off,seen it a few times.drop the lower off and look up inside the mid,if the the tuner doesnt fall out first!

I just put a new lower unit on it so if it's the tuner does that mean the powerhead would have to be removed?

did you notice this just after installing new lower?

id drop it again and have a look up inside with a flashlight,tuner may be broken/coming loose.you will have to remove the powerhead and exhaust adapter IF this is the problem.
