helix 9 si freezing

hello all new to the boards looking for a little help, and first time hummingbird owner, I am sure this question has been asked before

I just recently purchased a gen 1 helix 9 si, It has been updated to the latest software.
it seems to be lagging or taking a several seconds to refresh even when it is just on straight sonar and the freezes up completely for several seconds or longer. it also seems to freeze/lag when you try to change or push any buttons.Several time it has froze to the point where I have had to pull the power just to get it to do anything. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions before I try and contact hummingbird about it.

You may have a weak power supply to it, needs to be wired to battery - no less than #12 IMO and if no joy, call HB.
