Goby Fat Head Tube Jig.... I just made this mold this morning.

3/8 and 1/2 oz... 4/0 hooks with 60* leg regular eye. I hope to try these out soon on StClair and Erie...

    Good job Mike!

Got a picture of the modified mold, and the tool used in the process?

What is the benefit of the flat eye to you over the regular eye?

I feel like they come through the rocks better. But just like everything, We all have a theory.

How? Same line tie angle and all. I feel the line is protected better with a regular eye when the jig tips up from hitting rocks.

In my head I'm visualizing it being more stable in the rocks and less prone to roll when it deflects off of rocks.

I think the 90 degree line tie passes into the tube easier, without slitting the tube. I'd like to see one where the line tie slants back towards the hook point, or I should buy bigger tubes.

You must be buying crappie tubes.

I'm in the process of making another mold like this with sizes 1/16-1oz with the size molded into the head.

The flat eye protects your line better than a straight eye.
