    Question HDS Housing Border Color Change??

    Looking for a link to someone who has info on how to color the borders of your HDS units.
    Would prefer to send them to get them done or done locally..
    Any info is appreciated..

    The border cover pops off...painted mine with Krylon paint for plastic...two coats..looks great!

    Away from home right now...real simple though...there are slots around the faceplate border..pop em loose with a thin blade screwdriver and it separates from the main body...i put some tape over the "Lowrance" logo so it didn't get painted...made sure faceplate was clean and painted to match boat color...

    Mine were done with Plasti-Coat..................Very easy to use..........................RR

    Looks great. How long has it been coated, how's the durability of it?

    And just to be totally clear, is it Plasti-Dip, or a Plastikote product. I just an not finding an exact Plasti-Coat product, I'm assuming Plasti-Dip since it's so common, but just wanted to be sure in case I go experimenting....

    Yes..................I call them the same: Kinda like all soft drinks Coke..............I get mine at O'Reilly Auto Parts in a spray can.....................the covers are very durable and I have had them done 6 months or so.................RR
