Planning my first trip to Michigan in August. Suggestions trophy smallmouth guide?

I will be flying into Detroit and renting a car. Anyone mind suggesting a guide that can put me on
    some big small mouth?

I've considered just dragging the boat up there, but I'd be going in blind. I'm confident in my largemouth finding
ability but I struggle with consistently finding small mouth here in Oklahoma. Let alone giants....
    Thanks

There are several good guides on the lake. Gerry is one of them along with Marcel Veenstra, Art Ferguson, Jon Bondy (Windsor, Ontario) If my work schedule allows, I can take you out. I'm not a guide but live real close to the lake. In August I generally fish Canadian waters. American side can be good too, but there is less pleasure boat traffic on Canadian side.

I have seen Marcel and Art out there every time I've been out this year

Anyone of them would be an excellent choice they are hardworking guys with great track records

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the suggestions. I will check their schedules. I'm going to try to nail down the week I'll be there.
I'm really looking forward to hitting your waters.

    One more question,
Are there any smaller lakes that have decent bank fishing for smallies? Or is it mostly largemouth on the banks?

I'm not sure of any smallmouth lakes you could access and catch them consistently from shore.

Thanks Mike. Let me know how it goes.

I have caught a few smallmouth on tenkiller and Eufaula myself. I've never landed one over 4 lbs. though.
