    2.5 foot while red fishing on flats. Large tabs!!! Eliminates any hole shot issues, comes up flat, and lets you step up in prop sizes.

    I prefer 3' or more. I like 4 blades for this reason. I do not run a foil but would if needed.

    A lot of our creeks off the ohio river are only a couple of feet deep, makes getting out of them fun. Done it lots of times in 18 inches, also drug bottom more times than I can count trying to do it in 12 inches lol.

    I run a hi 5 and have a hydraulic plate so I'm kind of cheating but I like at least a foot and a half on my console graph if it's a soft bottom.

    i am good with 2.5 ft of water... i can get up spinning her around in 1.5 ft of water. only do this on soft bottom.

    remember if your depth finder says 2ft at idle ur in 3 ft. Fished livingston this week and several occasions i was seeing less then 2 ft on my depth finder when i took off. The bottom is soft.

    2.4 was the shallowest I got up. I do it all the time from 2.4-3.0 and never hit. 18' boat with 6" jackplate

    I have started to fish the Potomac a lot and 3ft is my minimum. If I know there is stone or rock, 4ft. It seems down there you could idle for days to find deeper water.

    my finder is offset, so it is actually correct. 2 feet of water on the finder is actuall 2.5 feet of water. + or - an inch or so.
