Thank you.
So let me ask this. Why not just make that part on the hull, in fiberglass, as part of the hull mold? Was it added later? Do some boats do better without it? Easier to replace if it gets damaged, rather than having to fix glass?
I do really like the Alli hulls and their attributes, like I said above I want to own one someday, maybe an xb21, saw one in person and really liked the layout, just never been in one for a ride.... yet

My guess would be that it is not molded into the hull so that variations and experimenting with lengths can be done more easily.
Yes, the skid planer and brackets can be added to other boats if need be and with some modifications. I installed one on my Astro 18FDX a few years before I bought my first Allison. I called the factory to get the proper angle brackets and length planer and after I installed it with a few alterations it made a night and day difference in hole shot on that boat with a 200 HP Merc.

It was my understanding one of the main reasons was to allow (clean water) to reach the prop at high speeds with less motor setback
It also allows for some experimenting with the length and angle for each individual setup. I have added a spacer under mine which is tapered from back front to help hole shot with heavy loads.
I thought someone asked Darris the same question one time about the pad being forward and the skid planer and Darris said something like there is an air pocket behind the pad and having the skid planer allows movement of water or air over the skid planer to break the vacuum and give the boat better performance. Where as a "regular" boat cant break that vacuum with the pad all the way back against the rear of the boat. Or maybe it was all just a dream.

All of that makes very good sense! The planer should allow water and or air pressure thru where solid glass would not. I figured that might be part of the reason. Great info. Im def considering experimenting with one on my BassCat just for fun. It doesnt have as much setback built into the hull/pad for me to work with, but might still be able to find some benefits

There can get to be a vacuum in that area as the boat comes up on plane. When the pad is so far forward. This can cause a poor hole shot There are a couple of boats that I am aware of they handled it differently. Ranger and Nitro both have this issue a I believe they run a tube from that lower area behind the pad up into the splash well
