    The best jack plate

Hey guys! I have a Gambler 2100 with a 250 mercury opti. I purchased this boat used a few months ago and it has a bobs jackplate installed. This jackplate has some serious play between the slide plate. I dont think replacing the sleeves(bearings) will be enought to fix it. I wanted to know what's a good plate for a 300hp rig in you guys opinion? Thanks for your help.

I have had detwillers since 2007 with no problems. I run the plate up and down every time on the water. Not sure which is best but I like the detwiller hydro, that being said I have only had the static plates made by hydrodynamics with the detwiller attached to it.

    Detwyler. Easy choice for me.

I won't use any plate that has a square slot for vertical movement. It's the corners in the slot where the cracks start, and failure can happen. From a design standpoint, you can't get much worse than square slots.
