3 might work for some, 1 isn't good enough for where I fish. A lot of us fish where there's no light pollution. On the Solix scale my Lowrance units dim down to about the -3 to -4 level. It's a huge difference in safely navigating at night as well.

How about a setting that takes all the way point names off but leaves the mark??? I currently have a lake that is getting over run with 267,268,269.......... it all runs over its self. No reason to display generic names

The names are smaller than the large Icons with the new units like the Solix

These new Icons on the Solix are way too big

But to just show a very small X or Dot with or without names would be great

Not to mention show the correct zoom level on the Solix when your at 100 Foot scale and hit zoom in the screen does zoom in but the scale stays at 100 feet

Would also be nice to zoom in to 20 or 30 feet scale like other brands do

    1) be able to set each depth on map as a different color, let the user pick the color they want. This should work with lake master or navionics.

    Ex: 1ft red, 2ft green, 3ft blue, 4ft orange.

    (On helix & Solix)

    2) I like the idea someone suggested about a full icon screen instead of scrolling through.

This one of the reason I still use another brand for GPS this feature comes standard on other brands

Should also be able to adjust chart depth offset on Navionics charts not just lakemaster

Post an example of the 1' color choices on your other brand. Have not seen that.

DTG (Distance to Go) has been a digital readout for navigation for many years.
A steer line between the start of navigation and a waypoint has been a feature for many years also.
Several other navigation aids are available including the Off Course Alarm, and boat icon on the SI view (SI Navigation).

Stop the insane price gouging for cables and adapters

Just to split the solix xdcr cable for high speed use you need a 2D xdcr- 100 to 200 a splitter cable- 59.99 and this adapter- 59.99

Funny how they can't make a splitter with both connections (bet they could and still sell it for 20 buck)

Why in the world should this adapter cost $60.00

I'd like to see a function where as on draw down lakes, I could take a snapshot of visible cover while high and dry, set a way point, and upload that photo into my unit so I know exactly how that cover lays.

Now there something I hadn't considered

I know that the Solix uses Jpeg images for the snapshots

It might be possible to load a photo on the SD card and see it on the screen

Might need to edit the image to the same size and resolution as the snapshots

Maybe take a snapshot at that location and replace it with the photo so it comes up at that location/waypoint

I've already put the boat in storage so I can't power the unit up to test but maybe someone else here can

How about full NMEA2K input and output.. I'm so disappointed that my Solix 15 and Solix 12 are about $6500 and i can't even share the GPS data with my other Gauges. Really sad...

You can put a jpeg file in the snapshot folder with the ONIX and SOLIX. BUT those units do not create a location file for the waypoint like a number series or Helix does to display a thumbnail of the photo.

Just one more thing that leaves you asking what were they thinking?

I never used the option on my 998 but I would now knowing I could upload photos in their place

HB has plenty to do this winter if they just read this thread

With the Helix just tried to change the snapshot of a waypoint and when the position curser was on the waypoint, it still displayed the original picture and not the one I changed to.

Also when I checked the Snapshot view its thumbnail was still the original, but when selected for a larger picture, it was blank.
