    Lake Erie

Are you required to carry visual distress signals to fish Presqille bay or just out side of bay on main lake?

Since the bay is connected to the open lake, all safety items need to be onboard..Anchor, day/night flares, throwable, sound producing device ect

Any boat 16ft or bigger must have flares and make sure the date is good on them. I looked at some at Walmart last week and they had run out a year ago, the Coast Guard checks there quite often

https://www.boat-ed.com/pennsylvania...039_101039155/ I wasn't sure about presque isle because of the last few lines on that page. The bay isn't two miles wide. However, it's not going to hurt to have them in the boat either way.
