Fernandina (Sp?) area vacation local knowledge

We will be soon taking our daughter to the her first beach trip-she has a birthday around that time too--anyone know some good restaurants (surf and turf style) we can take her for her 8th birthday-

Are you talking about Fernandina Beach in NE Florida? If so, cool little island spot, nice beaches. The state park at the North Side of the Island is cool, you can fish, go to the beach, go to the fort and all that from the one park. There is a place called Brett's Waterway Cafe that is good with local fresh seafood and other stuff. Most of the restaurants up there are good. Have fun!

Will be going to the Fernandina Beach area this month too. Went last year as well. Lots of restaurants there, particularly in the historic downtown area. Tried The Crab Trap, Sliders, and the Salty Pelican last year, all were good.

Take the ferry across the Saint johns river three or four good restaurants in Mayport.

I'm here right now actually. Working at the paper mill not for vacation. Staying at the Days Inn. Not great, not terrible. Went to Sliders down the block, good food good atmosphere.
