    Ducer Cable

Does Lowrance or bird make a shortened ducer cable for yaks? Mine only needs to be about 18 inches long.

I don't believe they do...I remember a few people asking about it on Facebook.

That sucks. When I had my sit-in it was easy to coil up the extra and stow it in the rear hatch. What does everyone do with it on a SOT?

I use wire caps from west marine and feed only the cable ends I need out from the hull of the kayak. The rest of the wiring is wound up and tucked inside of the kayak. Just google "west marine wire cap" and there should be a 2 hole wire cap that pops up. Very easy and makes for a clean install.

Hobie makes one of the best thru hull wiring caps in the business. I agree with the above comment about storing the extra cable inside the hull coiled up and zip tied to a scupper.

Oh I see, you still put the excess cable inside of a SOT by capping the hole afterward. Never would have thought of that. Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I thought Garmin or one of the major FF companies offered to exchange your too long T'Ducer cable for a shorter one. It had to be new and just purchased. Give your company a call.

I haven't bought one yet, but I will try that. Thanks Rich!

Why can't you just run it through the hull and coil it beneath?
