Just terrible....
Absolutely terrible. He also has a older son. Prayers to all.
It was close to home for me as it once was my boat. I sold that boat to him.

Horrible, and is happening way too often. I hope the tournament guy had big insurance, he's going to need it.
The guy driving the other boat is the guy that runs/operates the tournament. They need to shut the damn thing down. I can almost guarantee the law enforcement harassment is about to come into full swing on the lake.
Did they ever determine what caused the accident?
From what I read, both had navigation lights on.
I have heard multiple stories from the different news reports. The original report says the victims was not moving, a channel 13 reporter the day after said they were both on plane and running. Which may explain why all had life jackets on and he was in the driver seat. So I don't think we know for sure yet.

Just read that the wife and mother, Sara Clark, didn't make it. It don't get much worse than this.

Unimaginable ... My heart goes out to the kiddos
i think parks and wildlife started the reenactment on Thursday. They will find out what happened.
I'm sure the girl has a pretty good recollection.

How did you come to this conclusion? Easy to judge and guess what happened but I haven't read or heard that speed was the cause of the accident. I know it's very hard to distinguish between boats and other lights on Conroe at night with all of the houses, businesses on the south end, especially where the accident occurred. 30-40 mph impact could be fatal and that's not necessarily excessive speed in my opinion. Planing speed is the limit at night which could easily be 30 mph or more.

I agree. I have fished a few of these Tuesday evening tourneys and it is sketchy at night on the South end due to all the lights from the restaurants and houses. I can see where it would be very easy to mistake a boat for lights on the bank. I'm still curious as to what the TPWD investigation says though.
Any draw tourneys or all team ones? Any clubs have draw tourneys? Moved here this week and lookin to learn the "conroe ways" before movin to the front?
Where are the BIG ones? When are we going?
LOOKING for a Great deal on a Slightly used 20-21' Boat.
I believe the Tuesday and Thursday are team tournaments but not positive. Maybe someone that fishes them regularly can answer. I'd like to fish them but for me and my son it would just be total waste of money. When I think I have Conroe even the slightest bit figured out I go back for two weeks and can't catch anything at the same spots that I thought were good. Last couple of weeks for us have been tough.
