I posted Unbreakable earlier and meant to put Unbroken instead...agree, great movie! I just saw it's coming on in 10 minutes and realized I put the wrong name.

I can not imagine the hell that he went through. I was surprised to see that it was directed by Angelina Jolie.

You can get that on demand if you have HBO...awesome series. If you've got Netflix try Ken Burns "the war" 7 part series on WW II,
    really good!

Its available free if you have Amazon Prime in their movies

I watched it the other day and it had a range of emotions. I am surprised more people don't know about it. It was an HBO movie so that is probably why. Kevin bacon did a great job.

The Longest Day is my all time favorite war movie. I bet I've seen it 30 times since I was a kid when it first came out.

I was surprised it took as long as it did to get a mention. Talk about a star-studded cast! Holy crap, can you imagine putting that many big names in a single movie nowadays? Connery, Hackman, Olivier, Caine, Redford, O'Neal, Hopkins, Caan, Farrell, Gould, etc Don't know how much they were paid but I suspect they were motivated by something other than money

The Devils Brigade is an older but good one based on a real special forces unit in World War II.

I watched Band of Brothers and then went to Bastogne and Foy where it happened. Pretty cool seeing all the foxholes are still there. The house where the sniper was in in the window is still there and full of bullet holes.
