X21 Owners - Trolling Motor Shaft Length?

Need to order a new trolling motor for my "new to me" '08 X21. It has a 52" Minn Kota Fortex on it but not sure it needs to be that long. '08 X21 Tournament Series w/250 HPDI. Likely my last boat.........

If you're going with an Ultrex that is the only option you have as the 45" are backordered through eternity.

Good point. Normally no. Mostly canals, inner harbors, tend not to like bobbing around looking at a graph. I do like windy points and riprap, but not an offshore ledge guy.

After using an ultrex I wouldn't have anything else on my boat.

I have the 45" Fortrex on my X21...It's fine unless you plan on fishing in big rollers...

I had a 52" which was great on Green Bay when she decided to raise her ugly head. I replaced it this year with a 45" because 99% of my fishing is done shallow. And I was having to raise the 52" up all the way. Which just made for a lot of banging around with my fishing rods. So it will come down to what types of water you fish. My 2 cents.

45" on my 2006 X21TS with HPDI 250. We fish Guntersville and other larger lakes here no problem. I thank the Barges and big yachts can give some hell of wave to fight also here on the Tenn/Tom water way also.
