    1999 Progator 190V

Ran this weekend and was able to get the following numbers. Not a lot of info on the Progator boats so not sure if they like to run high/low, 3 blade/4 blade..etc
    Looking for advice.

    Thanks

    Mercury 200 EFI 2.5L(1.87 ratio)
    Rapid Jack manual plate
    4" below pad
    64mph(gps)
    6200 rpms(5800 max for motor)
small rostertail, about 3/4 to top of cowl
trophy 24p with open vents, no weed guard ring
hole shot is good, jumps right up
trimming up lifts the nose and holds it up
water pressure good all trim levels
prop is about a 6 out of 10, nicks and normal wear I would think

Only thing frustrating about the boat is porpoising when trying to cruise at any trim level, 3-4k rpms
I lowered the jackplate last year to see if it would help with porpoising, it didn't seem to help any. When I tried to raise back up, one bolt wouldn't budge and I was afraid I would strip it.

Those numbers are showing about 15% prop slip, you can do better. At those rpm,I think you could easily turn a 25" prop. See if you can try a Trophy+ or a Tempest+,the Tempest would probably be better. You can have your prop worked to bring it back to factory specs but you will likely still be turning too much.

Your prop needs to be put back to factory spec to get some grip to hold the bow at low speed.

I used to have a 200v with 200 merc, prop should be set 3.25" below pad, try a 25 or 26 trophy. I was getting 69 mph loaded consistently with that setup.
