Jason Isbell's from where I live--Muscle Shoals. He's really coming on strong as a musical troupadour since he went out on his on. Jason's close buddy, Patterson Hood, is really something (with the Drive by Truckers) but has relocated over to Athens, GA.

John Paul White (ex-Civil Wars) is also local, and his music is simply haunting.

Been listening to Isbell either with DBT or on his own for 15-20 years. Got some of Patterson's solo stuff as well. Mike Cooley also of DBT has some great solo work.

I am a fan of John Paul as well. Civil Wars and solo work.
