    Casting Rings

    I have casting rings set at 40'. If I have the boat on the ring is it 40' to WP or 40' to other side of ring, 20' to WP??

    The way I look at it is that any spot on the circle is 40ft from the waypoint..... is that right?

    40' is the radius of the circle, not the diameter.

    This is the feature description that the software added as stated in June 2012:

    Casting Rings - Allows you to display a circle around each waypoint on the Chart View based on the zoom level set. This menu option sets the distance that the Casting Ring will be displayed from the waypoint. Settings are Off to 150 ft; Default is Off.

    In what menu is the casting rings in with the onix please. I have looked and looked.
    My Onix became impossible to deal with after 3.03. It is back with Humminbird now.

    ONIX does not have casting rings. Helix and number series does and the setting is in the Nav Menu.

    ONIX and SOLIX have the Range Rings with the setting in the Chart Options.

    Thanks Wayne. The range rings go around your boat and not the target, right? But it ends up being the same thing in useage.

    That's what I'm seeing on the solix. Took me a sec to figure it out. I was looking for the waypoint rings
