Thumbs Up Prairie creek and Summit info

We have a two day club tourney coming up in a few weeks one day at each lake. I have never been to either one of them and just wanted to know what to expect? I hear Prairie in not a very good bass fishery but Summit is pretty decent.
Any and all info is appreciated.

I hate PC with a passion. It is full of giant carps and buffalo and pontoons and a speed limit. They will get you if you speed. The toons will drive you insane in the summer time. The bank across from the ramp has lot of rocks so careful there. Very shallow between the bank and the islands. Summit is much more relaxing as it is idle only. Fishing can be very good or very tough. Normally gin clear water with lot of grass.

Both of those lakes are a short drive from me. I've not been on Prairie Creek for 20+ years and not been on Summit for over a year. I've always caught bass on Summit in years past, but they are mostly small fish. I know there are some keepers in there, but I just can't find them very often at all.

Thanks guys. I have heard rumors of PC having small mouth? Looks like I see some good breaks around the islands?

i just moved down closer to PC last year, i fished a few Tuesday nighters there the first 1 which was the end of may i think...took 14.xx to win.. all smallies. Its not a great lake by any means but its also not horrible. square bill and spinnerbaits on the breaks around the islands should produce a few fish. also the first bridge up from the launch is a good place to pick a few up. there are fish to be caught there.

Thanks for the info guys. Our club did pretty decent on both lakes. I have a 3.5 smallie at PC and finished both days in the middle of the pack.

We fished a small one down there last week, our first place was 13.8, but second was 10.8. Guys who got second didn't have a bite until 11, and had never been there. Was curious if it would be much different.
