F150 vs. VF150

Looking to repower. I know the F150 is pretty bulletproof but how does the VF150 compare? Thanks.

I have the F150 on my Z118 Ranger. Pushes the boat in the mid 50's with all the crap I got hanging off of it. Change the engine oil/filter and lower unit fluid once a year. Engine is very easy on gas. When I was shopping for a motor I had techs from two separate dealers tell me that if they were going to buy a 150 hp motor the F150 would be it. Their respective shops sold and serviced different brands. Last year (February 2016) while on a fishing trip to Florida my friend had to have his Evinrude repaired. We took it to a marine repair shop that only sold and serviced engines. They serviced most all brands. Two mechanics told us the same that if they were to buy a 150 hp engine the F150 would be it. They also said the Honda and Suzuki were great trouble free engines in that HP as well. In fairness to the SHO 150 it was either just introduced or had not been introduced yet.
