LED Bolts Mounted High or Low?

Before I go ahead and drill a hole in my gunnels, is there anyone here who has only one pair of LED bolt lights for their deck? Are they OK, or do you hate them?

I can only do one pair because my port side gunnel has 2 PVC pipes, for cable runs, fiberglassed against the inside wall; the starboard side is clear with no mounting issues. There is a small break in the lower PVC pipe about mid-deck where I could install an LED Bolt low. The other option is for a full set of lights up high, about an inch from the top of the gunnel. My gunnel is 4” high at the console and reduces gradually to about 1”. I don’t like the look of LED strips.
Any thoughts?

Can't help I have 3 on both sides on the front deck. I do only have one mounted on each side on the back deck.
