I do do the exact same thing. I try to keep the same routine to ensure I don't forget to put it back in.

I leave the plug in until I get home. The extra movement of water in the bilge on the way home helps in keeping that area clean.

That's not a bad idea right there. I might see if I can steal it.

I have always pulled my plug for no other reason than my ice chest drains down into the bilge.

I got into the habit of grabbing the little floor mat from the back floorboard of my truck to use as a kneeling pad. It saves putting a bare knee down on the rough asphalt parking lot in order to reach up under. My Nitro's plug is way up under there.

I leave mine in for the ride home. Bar of soap in the bilge cleans my hull

I use to never pull the plug but with the new boat it has a remote plug so I
started opening the plug because it can be put back in on the water. They
are the way to go no more crawling under the boat.

Always pull plug! The remote plug option paid for itself with less chiropractor visits!

It is law in Wisconsin to drain boat before leaving the ramp. I pull when strapping down the back. When I go out I do a walk around before leaving the house to make sure straps are good and put the plug back in.

Rarely unless I've been fishing or towing in the rain.

It's illegal to drive on the road with the plug in here. Trying (unsuccessfully) to avoid transfer of AIS.

For those of you who have hard to reach plugs i highly recommend a remote drain plug. Easily the best $100 i ever spent. I have a 03 tr21 and it is so far in there it was impossible. I owned the boat 3 weeks before i ponied up the money and said enough was enough. Get it. You wont regret it! And for the price and convenience it pays itself off by the 2nd trip. So to answer the question, i never pull the plug. But i do flip the switch after every trip. :)

Always pull it out. sounds like some may be a candidate for the remote drain plug.

I pull it every time just to check that I'm staying dry. As soon as I know nothing is coming out I put it right back in.
