Helix 7 Start up

I just got my Helix 7 mounted and hooked up to my boat. (Not the newest model to date the previous model)When I first started it up all I have is this black screen with green writing and can't get anywhere with it. I need some help. This is my first ever unit of any kind so I'm really green when it comes to this all the help will be greatly appreciated.

I can't get the figure out how to post my pics. It says that the pic is too big.

Exactly how did you provide power to it?

Which one of the 6 versions of the first issue of Helix 7?

Did you start it up when on the water so you can get sonar echoes?

The power is through the fuse box. Used a 3 amp fuse like the manual said. I did not start it up on the water. Won't be on the water until tomorrow. Not sure how to tell which series. I believe it was new in 2015.

Is it Sonar, DI, or SI with GPS?
Sonar or DI without GPS?
OR just the GPS model?

Try it on the water and report back if you still have a problem.

I was on the water yesterday and it didn't the same thing as what it was doing in my driveway.

Was that "didn't do the same thing"? If so, good news....LOL They don't usually work so good out of the water....LOL

*and it "did" the same thing. It won't show anything other than the black screen with green letters.
