    2017 Mercury 300XS Issue

I have a 2017 Mercury 300XS stalling out at idle and when I check the bulb at fuel tank it is soft. Seems motor is asking for fuel but bulb want stay primed. Only does it at idle and not when running??? Any thoughts or opinions on this issue??? after I pump bulb up it crankes right up. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

just a heads up -- they will want your serial number to help.
My first thought would be to check the fuel lines and bulb for a possible air leak.
Someone will be along soon that may have some other opinions ..
Being a 2017 model if your anywhere close to a dealer i would sure take it to them to get it documented and repired

First, take it back to your dealer, second I had the same problem, it was my fuel pump, surge pump, dealer replaced mine under warranty, then they replaced my compressor, all under warranty

plugs were probably not gapped properly.. the 300xs needs a bigger than normal gap or it does exactly what you are describing

NKY Triton are you saying plug gap can cause the issue of bulb not staying primed?

No sir, I was replying to the guy right above me about plug gap. Your problem is most likely fuel pump related, probably diaphragm....maybe? I wouldn't even take the hood off since its new, take it to the place you bought it from and let them deal with it.

You do if you want them set correctly.
However IMO that is not the OP's issue.
