Ran down to good old Lake of the Arbuckles yesterday. I guess it could take a little more runoff but not much. If you're familiar with the Guy Sandy ramp you'll see the difference.
Normally a steep drop here. Front wheels of the truck were barely out of the parking lot.
Not the greatest shot but the ramp to the fishing dock is normally a steep walk down...same with the loading dock.
Once out on the lake you'll surprised the normally clear water is littered with all kinds of flotsam and jetsam. Many of the coves and creeks are choked with it. Also the main lake is like running a slalom around all the lower unit killing tree trunks floating around. I probably didn't go faster than 35 all day. The picture is a little cove at the far south end of Buckhorn that catches everything. The little island area has floating all around. Rock Creek looks more like Bell Cow than Arbuckle. I didn't even try there.
I caught a couple right off the bank in Guy Sandy early but that dried up. Started looking offshore but caught nothing. Lake patrol came by and told me that everybody was catching them in the flooded bushes.
Also, everywhere I went was thick with Gar. I don't know if it matters or not but I've never caught a bass with Gar circling around.
