    Need help quick....prop

I have a 2015 Z7 w/175 pro xs. 6" slidemaster, 3"p-p, tempest+24P, 5850-6000rpms (depending on chine), 65-68mph, 12' talons and bigger batteries. Put CB foil on and now getting awesome holeshot, but I want a bravo 1FS 4 blade for the acceleration, and handling. I fish small lakes in Illinois so I don't care if I lose some top speed. I've been told by several people that I need to go down 1-2 pitch with a 4 blade expecially on bigger diameter props. Now Mercury's site says to go UP 1 pitch with the bravo 1FS. Just called a prop dealer and explained what I was looking for, and he said no to the 22p that boating friends chose, and said go with a 25P. So, I think they are just looking at the same site I was. Does anybody have any experience with switching to one of these 4 blades, and did you go to a different pitch, and lastly what was the results? Thanks for any input!! Joe

Well I know the Bravo pitch's are not the same as a Tempest. So If your turning a 24p Tempest I would agree a 25p Bravo would be the right prop. Its 1+ on the Tempest and 2+ on the Fury.

I have a 2010 Z7 with 2013 Pro Xs 200HP, ran 70gps with P25, then I added (2) 12' talons and with tournament ready (gear) and 2 men at 200lbs each 3/4 tank of gas and full live well I couldn't get the boat on plane. I tried a p24 no difference, so local prop guy ordered me a Bravo 1xs (4) blade 22.5 and I jump on plane and top speed is 64 gps at 5850 rpm. My boat seems to ride smoother and turn like its on rails. I have an Atlas 6" jack plate and have it set at 1.5" Hope that helps anyone with the same issues.

Thanks guys, appreciate the input. Got a fellow BBC'er that's willing to let me try one, so hopefully soon, I'm where I want to be.

You should be able to run the bravo higher then the tempest thats why you go up in pitch. I'm following to see what you end up with.

I hate to tell you this but that speed with 200 on a z7 is terrible I had a 2011 z7 with 2014 200 pro xs and 600 lbs of human full livewells 3/4 fuel and 40 rods plus all gear and ran a 26 tempest plus worked by Mark and boat ran 69-71 depending on the temperature all the time
