I had a flush mounted unit and upgraded to a Precision Sonar mount this year. I wish I would have done it much sooner!

When I'm in a hotel, I'm not worrying about my $5000 in electronics sitting in the dash.

I prefer the flush mount look myself and my HDS12 at the console is flush mounted, however I cant flush mount a HDS12 at the bow so I have a mount there.

Bow and console flush mounted. There out of the way, don't shift or move going down the lake.
steering wheel isn't in the way and they don't block my other gauges.

Mine are flush mounted and i plan on keeping it that way. Glare has never been an issue.

I'll bet it has more to do with OCD than security.

Having it built-in the dash is cleaner and "looks cool".

IMO...a dash mount makes the boat more vulnerable to damage. A thief that wants it...will just crowbar it out and ruin the dash also.

I really doubt the plastic cases and screens would survive crowbar removal. What's the point of stealing something that can't be used or sold?

Flush mount for me. I like the clean, un-cluttered look. I've never had a problem with glare. Maybe when I get older I'll need to bring them up and closer to my face but for now I don't have a problem. Also, I think those mounts cost more than my graphs.
