Difference between 225ProXS and 250ProXS Heads

I just sent a PM to Don but was wondering if anybody here had any advice. I have a 225ProXS on my boat and one head is weeping a drop of water every minute or so which must be from a tiny crack in the head. The 225ProXS and 250ProXS heads have the same part number but the 225ProXS heads end in A06. The 250ProXS heads end in 08 (225 Starboard head is 841021A06, 250 is 841021A08). I think somebody told me once that there was a slight compression difference between the A06 and A08 heads. Just wondering if anybody knew the difference and if they ever ran the A08 heads on a 225Pro XS.

For the Inquiring Minds...Don said to only use the 225 heads. The porting on the 225 block is different from the 250 and the heads should be matched to the block. From the lack of input...nobody else had tried it.

You could "CC" the head to determine if the combustion chamber is different.

If its just a weep, I would look into having the head TIG welded.

That is what I am having done. Was just looking for options in case the weld doesn't work and for future reference (although I am 99.9999999% sure the weld will be just fine) .

Clean the paint off a put some JB Weld on it. It will stop the leak.

Was seriously thinking about that. If I was keeping it for myself...that would be the fix. However, I have the motor sold and I will not sell it that way. Will weld the head. Have a new head on order just in case.
