    Favorite Smallmouth Lakes in TN

Alright, so my wife and I are pretty stoked about our move to Tennessee in September, and one thing that is getting me really excited is the chance at once again being around some killer Smallmouth lakes. To me it seems that TN is probably considered the Smallmouth capital of the South.

Other than Dale Hollow (of which Ive heard much about) what other smallmouth lakes are worth a look?

Also, what are your favorite techniques for fishing smallies in TN?

This guy knows his stuff, and throw in the occasional 7-8 lb largemouth on any three of them.

My heart is in Tennessee, however we moved to Alabama to the Tennessee River because of very reasonable housing, incredibly low property taxes and a decent quality of healthcare and culture. This river is the number one cruising river in the U.S. with 650 miles of navigable water. We live about 15 miles from the AL/TN State Line.

Within 25 miles of home, we have the upper Pickwick, Wilson Lake and Wheeler Lake. More large smallmouth have been caught here than anywhere. And the river with a 6 mile sunset view is just 27 steps from my front door to a nonfloating double boathouse. And we have two 18 hole Robert Trent Jones golf courses on our street with a third RTJ course within eyesight across the river.

The Tennessee River is just so tough to beat for a place to retire to, and there are so many really nice cities along the water way.
