    2002/2003 520 bench seat help.

ok I called the factory last week to get a new seat. Gave her my serial # RNG6G695G203 she told me my boat is actually a 02 was built late 02 but has a 03 number witch would explain why I see other 03's with a different style dash and different style seat. The seat for my boat is $1900 but the seat they designed for the 03 is $1100 she was going to check and if the $1100 would fit in my boat. I have not heard back from them so I am trying to do my own research to to see if the 03 would fit. I'm not sure but were the 520VX's the same from 2000 to 2004? If anyone has any experience your input would be very much appreciated.

I had my 2001 520DVX bench seat recovered by a local shop, with factory Ranger skins, 9 pieces total, the cost around 6-7 hundred for skins and $450.00 labor. I think boats are the same, just different dashes, seat designs,etc...

Another option would be new bucket seats. See them from time to time on Ebay or I bought a set off of here. Paid around $600 for the pair. Do a search on here. Several early 2000s boats that have been upgraded to 2014-2016 seats.

Well I talked to Ranger today. And the 03 will not fit my boat wasn't given a reason why just said it won't fit. So I was told $395 for skins witch I thought that was cheap from what I have heard other people pay for skins. I called two shop's they were about the same price $650 to install. So would have $1050 in the seat plus down time on the boat while the work was getting done. The other option Ranger gave me was same style seat only in a bucket with a center coin box colored to match the inside gel color on the inside of the boat for $1100 + $100 for shipping. So I'm thinking that maybe the way to go. They did say it would take about 8 weeks to get it. Then just take out the old and put in the new. And put the old seat in the man cave!

I did this. You won't be disappointed. Awesome upgrade and super easy install. Great time to run new fuel lines & clean top of fuel tank as well.

Would the new buckets have improved/upgraded structural support to them? I know they switched to SRS seating around that time. Might help you make your decision too.
