    NEED A STEP IN A RT188

Ranger said they didn't sell the RT198P step as an after market part. I really like the looks of this step better than RT188. Are there any types of steps other people are using.

Basscat sells them in two different sizes. You can see them on their website.

I don't know why Ranger wouldn't sell it for the 188 unless it absaloutly wouldn't fit . Either way I'm good with my 188 step . It's nice to get up on the front deck and a good kneeling platform to dig around in the rod box especially with dual consoles .

    It's all good !

Not trying to hijack this thread... Is the BassCat a direct bolt-in on a 188 i.e. any modifications needed? Are there large gaps between the seats and the box or is it, preferably snug? Any water getting into the box? For $135 it sounds like this is a quick answer to removing the middle seat. Thanks

I put the large bass cat step in my RT. There is a small gapbetween the seats now, but it adds storage and 2 cup holders. I screwed it in using the same holes that held the seat in. No mods.

Is this thread about trailer steps, middle seat steps, or steps to the bow?

Thanks Old Goat for the pictures. You reckon when you get a chance you could take a picture with the lid open? Interested in seeing how the lod is sealed. Thanks

I'm the OP and asked about steps meaning from boat floor to the deck. Since then I've ordered the BassCat coin box or as BassCat calls it a (carpeted step box )to replace the middle seat. When I get it I'm going to determine if it would be a good step option from the cockpit area to the deck. They say they'll make custom sizes.
