Question Raymarine GPS Speed to Honda Vee Three Guage

Does a Honda Vee Three speed odometer gauge get the GPS speed from a Raymarine MFD through the STNG cable?

    OR

Does it require a separate cable from the MFD network port to the NEMA backbone?

    Thanks

It gets the signal thru the NMEA, what ever GPS signal it is, Most likely a fish finder/gps.

if you have a Raymarine unit, there is a STNG to NMEA cable you can get.

Hickory, thank you for your reply.

When I pulled the console Raymarine MFD for warranty work I saw that the STNG cable from the MFD STNG port only went to the STNG backbone, and the STNG backbone was never connected to the NEMA backbone.
The cable and Tee where there, just not connected.
I was hoping that the MFD GPS speed would transmit through the STNG cabling from the MFD STNG port to the STNG backbone, STNG backbone to the NEMA backbone, and then NEMA backbone to the Vee Three gauge.
I figured with my luck the STNG system would only transmit Honda engine data to the MFD and I would need to add a Raynet cable from the MFD network port to the NEMA backbone for the MFD GPS speed to get to the Honda Vee Three gauge.

Connect the STNG backbone to the NMEA, it should work out for you

    It worked perfect.
Nothing blew up or caught on fire.
    Thanks
