i just ordered a sportsman 17- 90hp with 1 -12 ft talon but i am considering 2 -- has anyone used 2 talons on this boat and if so is there any problems with weight etc. any thoughts would be appreciated

I have a Sportsman 17/90hp with 2 power poles. What I've noticed is a slight tendency to porpoise or lope sooner as you trim up. This in turn effectively takes 1-2 mph off your top end speed, if you're intolerant of loping, like I am. Another thing to consider is 8ft units; 2 power poles will add 40lbs to the transom and 2 Talons will add 76lbs to the transom. There is no room in the bottom of the boat to mount the pumps for the power poles, so I had to have a mounting bracket fabricated and attached to the inside of transom. The Talons likely will be somewhat worse "loping-wise" given they are heavier. My best guess.
