Lightbulb Looking for help (abu reel)

I have an ambassadeur 4600C3. Took it apart cleaned it and fixed release button issue. Now the spool gear is not meshing with the handle gear to turn spool and worm gear for level wind. Why is it no meshing. I put side plate on, insert spool and gear pushes down inside side plate?

Make sure your brakes are inside of the drum like surface. Make sure that the pinion is in the yoke properly and that it moves freely.

I just re read your post again. Which gear is being pressed down? The pinion gear? If so I would expect that the yoke is not holding it tight for some reason.

I guess it is the pinion gear. It's the gear that spins the spool while rotating handle. I thought maybe that I was assembling wrong. After assembling the inner plate and inserting spool the gear gets pushed down and won't engage with the gear on the spool. I mailed it in to get serviced. Should know what I did wrong in a few days. The price of trying to learn so I don't have to again.
