    Trim when Loading

When loading a large fiberglass bass boat where should you have the trim positioned for optimal loading without risking dragging your skeg on the ramp? I dragged the skeg once on my old xpress aluminum rig and have been very reluctant to trim down when loading. Is there a rule of thumb for where to have the trim to get the best power when loading?

I have a Mercury Optimax Pro XS ... I trim mine up as far as it will go without losing contact with the two trim rods.

This, with it trimmed all the way up it will lift the bow and allow the boat the slide up the bunks easier.

Yep. Trim up til it hits the tilt range, then back down til it contacts the trim rams. I usually do it as soon as I come off plane heading in to the dock, eliminates the possibility to forget after the trailer is in and Im heading to load up
