I have had the late 1980's Mercury xr4 and they are a beast, but are the older models like the late 1970's non oil injection models 150-200hp any good compare to the late 1980's models?

I have had the late 1980's Mercury xr4 and they are a beast, but are the older models like the late 1970's non oil injection models 150-200hp any good compare to the late 1980's models?

sure are/ if maintained proper I know of many still running today but not as strong as later mods that mtr is a 2.0 liter crank rated about the equivalent of a 125 today
