Good luck, we are doing a project for them now, they asked if I would go and commission it. I looked at him and said you don't have enough money for that, he said we do.... and I said no you don't

Yep! All those quitting the company due to the schedule requires no severance pay from the company. The savings are huge.
    No layoff required.

I am leaving angola and relocating to Midland Texas for my company. Oil patch still needs to improve.

I am on the Aviation offshore support side of the oil and gas industry. Quality and Auditing.
My next move will be outside aviation. Just deciding what to do if this continues. Been doing this for 30 yrs.
I enjoy my job, but at this point I am living in Nigeria and get to visit my family. Not a healthy situation.

Refineries are constantly hiring, work half the year, home every day, and make 6 figures.

only way you are doing that is by chasing turnarounds. either welding, crane operator or inspections. Nothing wrong with that lifestyle for sure, but you don't stay in any one place for to long.

$4000 a week is $200,000/ year. You can make over $100,000 at most any refinery or chemical plant on the river now if you work just a little overtime. If you take all you can get in OT you will be around $150,000 for sure.

I think he's saying work half a year due to shift work and with a little overtime make $100k plus. He's not saying work 6
months and make $4k a week.
