if your gonna go to the top two bolts, you will need to modify the bracket. i did'nt want to drill or shave down the mount. i dont have any issues with dragging water.

from your original post, are you dragging water? my talon is as high as possible on the bracket. it sits in the water at rest. but on plane it is just out of the water by a coupls inches. not familiar with your boat modle.

55 pounds heavier, try and load the bow down with gear or a buddy, or drop the pitch on your prop 1. Now besides that is the Talon as high as it can go on the high end of the bracket?

I had problems planing my boat. 17' Champion with a 115. I was going to change props and even try a 4 bladed prop. Someone suggested for me to try a hydrofoil. I bought one for around $50 at Bass Pro and it fixed my problem. It planes almost as fast as before and it actually handles much better on plane than it ever did. Also, have you mounted the bracket as close to the transom as you can? Getting it snug will help reduce some of the drag.

I'm going to do the same thing; I hope I don't run into the same problem.
