ficht 225 ho shuts down while on plane

2004 ficht 225 HO BRP Motor
    Model #E225FHLSRM

Joy riding down the lake around 4000RPM , the motor just quit. NO warning of any kind,(like you turned the key off). Tried to restart and nothing(no lights, beep, or horn. The motor would not turn over. Using the TM, made it to a boat dock and started to check what I could and out of frustration tried to start again. Cranked up just like it should. Happened twice more that same day. Never had any problems before since new. I try to do all the motor maintenance myself. Any ideas ? Headed to shop end of month.

    Thanks

Sounds like a bad PDP to me. They develop cold solder joints and that makes the problem hard to pinpoint. A broken or loose wire at the key switch is another possibility.

As Dan has mentioned it's probably a bad/failed solder joint. I believe they used lead free solder and it cracks/opens up the connection. You have to look close when you pull the PDP and see how the solder joints look. look close because sometimes its not that easy to find.
