Go pro video - 203 on Champlain - rough water

Took yesterday off from work with a buddy and went to Ticonderoga on lake champlain. We had a 20-30mph NNW wind which is a big deal on champlain. When we launched and were idling out to warm up the motor getting ready to run north, we had several waves swamp my bow and flood the deck. I couldn't get the go pro to work on the run up (which was the roughest) but after some hours fishing in one of my calmer area's, I got the go pro to work on the run down south. The video doesn't do it justice how rough it actually was out there. Its rather deceiving actually. Anyways, every time I get the 203 in rough water I become more impressed with it. Its nice to not be sore with anything other then sore feet and legs from standing/battling the waves all day. In the video we ran a consistent 50-60mph and at the end got up to 68.5mph. I think the Talon weight on the back even helped the rough water ride.

and better yet, fishing was awesome as we boated over 35 fish.

Looks just like my 203 except mine's a DC and I have a deck extension instead of the cooler.

Post a pic of your go pro mount . I like the viewing angle. I assume you have it on the motor. How is it attached.

I've always wanted to mount my go pro on the cowl, just afraid it might fall off

Guy in our bass club put his go pro on the top of his boater's outboard and long story short it is now taking video of big ole bass somewhere on the bottom of Chickamauga.

That's why I like videos. Rather than just saying what it can do you can see the boat slicing through the chop and keeping you dry. That 203 is nice.

I have the same sticky pad mount. I put it on the top arm of my F350 side mirror a couple of years ago when we were driving through Yellowstone. It's still there.

I don't know if I can make myself put it on the top of my new G2...

Neat vid. Great day of fishing! Question - on that run back through that kind of chop, wave action, where do you like to run your trim? Purposefully keeping the bow down a bit to slice through or not so much?

i was trimmed all the way down, to slice the waves. The higher you trim in those conditions the rougher and more dangerous the ride... however, my boat is set up for top end. I have positive 5* wedges on my boat, so being trimmed all the way down on my setup would be equal to being trimmed up about 1/4 of the way without wedges.

its kind of hard to tell in that video but the whole run I am in and out of ge throttle, constantly adjusting the trim up and down etc. it's not just trim down, hit the gas and go straight.

I could hear the throttle changes, thanks for the info. I figured you were down on the trim a lot if not all the way, but the wedges, ya, makes sense..Thanks.
