I've used an inflatable exercise ball. Just have to remember to not overinflate it so I doesn't explode when it gets hot out.

I've also used a normal seat post and a seat mount that has a big foam ball glued onto it.

I got my 482vs out last night for a trip, I saw this thread the other day and thought I would shoot a few pics for you. This is a "raised" cover, although it isn't "raised" as much as it used to be because of the trolling motor. I hate carrying seats, so I just use PVC pipe in the seat bases to support the cover. The latest addition of an Ultrex made me have to cut the front post shorter so the cover would fit below the rub rail. Hopefully this is what you have been looking for.

I really appreciate the pictures/input. I ended up making a full boat and motor cover with seat out design using a strap with a ratchet around the perimeter and about 5 straps down the sides. Will post some pics once I take some. Next is the fender/tire covers.
