    I'm heading to Pool 13

Any timely reports on water levels, temps, clarity ... your favorite fishing spots? I heard that Bucks Barn reopened ...

The usual spring spots have been pounded to death but are producing well. Backwater ponds are clear to stained with temps usually about the same as the air. Main river is still running a little hard and muddy. Overall the fishing is as good as usual up there, just fishing a little small right now.

I was there on Saturday. Spring lake was 64 degrees, pretty clear, and plenty of water depth. Subula Marina was 62 degrees and a bit dirtier . Fishing was kind of slow but guys told us the bite on Friday was awesome. Caught one fish that looked like it had been making a bed. The rest seamed pre spawn. Someone told me the water jumped up a foot from Friday to Saturday. Buddy and I caught 7 keepers but nothing to brag about. Good luck

The prize catch of the day - a barking, slimy, ugly fish. Thunder storm to start ... unrelenting wind all day long.... the best we could of was one just short and one just long enough.
That dogfish hit a jig with a saltcraw trailer...

Thursday was more wind, a few more fish nothing to brag about .... High water 75 deg Wed and 70 deg on Thurs after the storm Wed night ... what a monsoon that was. Water color was not bed
Wed we stayed in Spring and Thursday we made the rounds of backwater lakes .... but not Browns. Looking forward to some stable weather. It doesn't even need to be great - just not extreme.

I ask guys all the time if anyone has ever caught a small dog fish and no one has! I'm guessing they hatch at 4lb!

In Minnesota I've actually seen balls of baby dogfish, similar to what bullheads used to look like, but other than that I've never seen anything less than about 20". lol Fishing has been extremely tough on 13 this year and constantly changing river levels and temperature swings have been a major factor. Still plenty of nice fish to be caught as local results have shown, but it has been a grind for the most part.
