The one we sank next to a ship channel in Tampa Bay, was old enough it didn't have any flotation, so my brother just hacked a hole with an ax and went down with the ship.

I made a mistake putting about 5 .22 holes in one of my grandpas old 12ft John boats when I was like 14 and at the time thought it was a great idea to sink it in the pond so he wouldn't find it. My cousin and I hacked holes with a hatchet the size of basket balls and it wouldn't sink then figured out that the bench seats were filled with foam. So we hacked them open dumped gas in it and lit on fire till it was all melt or burnt then it sank like a rock. And yes I have confessed this to my grandfather years later lol

Far better structure to be sinking vs a boat. (i.e. xmas trees and/or diy pvc structures etc).

Sure hope your not considering surreptitiously sinking a boat in a public lake/river.

Nah , I think the OP is serious . All he needs to do is get with Fishboy and his cousin and that boat is going down but sooner or later he'll sing like a canary and tell everybody where it's at !

No trolling was asking a serious question. Got a boat with a busted hull. It would make a great fish attractior with some pvc pipe added to it and also a great piece of cover to set up your side and down scan. Some great post but done that were to helpful. With no gas or anything else to hurt the water don't see a problem ,

You still haven't said if the body of water was private or public.

i've thought about sort of making a boat out of plywood. Caulking the joints just so it will last long enough to pull it out to its resting spot. Basically fill it full of everything, trees, weights etc. and pull it out and drill a hole in it.
    Like this but bigger.

    Did this last week.

A bunch of xmas trees(or pvc trees) with concrete bases is a much better option imo. You can make a bunch of them for very little money.
These looking interesting....and little risk of snagging lures on them when pvc(or similar) is used.
