Too much modifications needed to do the mechanical tabs. All of the force is on the upper actuator bracket. Since the upper actuator bracket would be mounted to a blind spot (you can't access from Battery compartment), metal plates would have to be welded to transom to give it the strength to hold. I had contacted Lectrotab and all they could give me was screwing though hull outer skin "should work". Then they sent a photo off an install with welded plates on the transom. I just wasn't ready to go that far for 1-2 mph. Welding, repaint, install. And no guarantees it would be any better then the factory tabs.
I really think a Viper will get me 47 mph and above. I'm more than happy with that.
I'm a big guy and I carry a tackle store with me in the boat. Always have. One day I'll trim the tackle and me down. Lol.

    21" Apollo

Into 12-14 mph wind 6000 Rpms at 46.1
Wind at my back 6050 Rpms at 47.5

Still getting some blow out if you trim too fast.
This is the biggest 3 blade I can put on.
My only other option is a 21" Raker, which should run very similar.
    Or a 22" Turbo.

I would like to get Rpms down 200.

Found a place in Green Lake WI that sells Turbo props and is a prop shop. Green Lake is across the street. 2 hours away from me. Guess I'll be going up there tomorrow am to test a FX4 22 pitch or 20 pitch.

Youre gonna get it running where you want. Once it loosens up and you find a prop youre happy with gonna run very nice with that jack plate on there. Good all around. 04ctd had your same setup but his was a 13 model no tabs and he got his running very well 51 mph i believe with a 21-22p prop. May ask him hes not a big poster tho.

I find an economical cruise speed is more important then max speed. I like to cruise between 4000-4500k rpms for best fuel/oil consumption.

I agree with this motor 35-40 is a comfortable cruising speed. A four blade prop would definitely help the mid range trim angle, top end slip, and blow out in turns.

About the same as me and I am happy with how it does. Mine has never hit 50 and I don't care. Truthfully, most of my time in the boat when cruising from spot to another is at about 35 MPH. I hardly ever drive wide open, don't see the need for it. I bought the boat to fish from and it fishes just as good if it will do 51 at wide open or if will do 48 at wide open. I have owned several fast boats and no matter what you do to RT188 ------ it'll never be one unless you strap a bigger motor on it.

As far as the tabs go....no big deal. The boat handles better with them than without them. I have had the boat both ways. I remember reading a post lately about somebody taking them off and was now asking about reinstalling them. The Triton and RT are made to fish from.....and they are very good at it.

I am proud for you and your new motor. You will love it more and more as time goes by. Good job.

Drove up to the prop shop today. They were out of stock on FX4 propellers and had a back order date of late August. The owner told me they are having issue's at their factory. Sounds like I don't want that prop after all.

So I shipped my Apollo off to Mark Croxton to get cup added and blades balanced. I am going to get a Rogue 21 pitch also and give that a try. It should be very similar to the Apollo, but being a 4 blade may run better.

Close in what speed? As for holeshot and drivability you may settle on the Rogue
