    Clicking/knocking noise

have a 2001 200 OX66 VMax, had a "knocking" noise start on the final run of the day. I put it in neutral = no noise. I put it in reverse = no noise. I put it in forward gear = it sounds like a knocking noise. I could still get on plane and go but the knocking noise kept pace with speed. Get to the ramp and check it in forward gear and reverse, both times the prop turned a little and then seemed to lock into gear. Put it in neutral and you could spin it freely,

check the bolt in the center of your jack plate the one you raise and lower. mine came loose on my skeeter and it sounded like a rod knocking in the motor.

Never like to hear a knocking noise in my engine. Hopefully, it's as crankster says. Other things to check....pull your prop and check for line/rope. Also, check your throttle linkage. May not be allowing you to fully engage if you have a hot foot.
