If you want to get a quick bite on a swim jig, buzz it just under the surface over weed lines (especially if the buzzbait or frog bite shuts down)...trust me on this one.

I've found these to be fantastic trailers, these and a local plastic company "Big Dawg Baits".. These were originally made for the Alabama Rig and pulsate at the slowest of speeds..

black and blue, bluegill or white swimjig is really all you need around here...any small 3.5 or 4" boot tail trailer will do fine

Dirty Jigs No-Jack 3/8 swim jig and either a paca chunk in the hologram blue color or a big spanky netbait swimbait. Its 5 inches and I usually bit just a touch off the nose of it. But I have recently been using the strike king rage swimmer and its becoming a favorite of mine also for a trailer. Looks just like a bluegill or shad swimming in the water.

BigDawgBaits™ fixed their website, it was 'down' when I originally answered in this thread. Here is their 5" Swimmer.. These are great baits. They are the most durable swimmer in this size that I've found. I fish these in the thick pads and they last the longest (so far) ***••• These are loaded w/scent (almost overpowering) so make sure You triple bag them..Especially if You leave Your gear in the boat •••***

The color "Houdini" is great because it is Watermelon Red but if You kill it and let it fall, there is a Silver streak that POPS!! The smaller one is great for a more compact presentation, the 5" is great by itself.

Edit: You can barely see the Silver (belly area) but if You kill the bait, or 'jerk it' that Silver really shows.

Did I mention they are stinky stinky?

The best hook I've found for that 5" is made by BassAssassin™ 'weighted belly hook'

Buckjunkie - I like to use a 3/8 oz black and blue swim jig with a Rage Craw on the back here on the Arkansas River. I actually have a video on how I fish swim jigs on the river. It shows you how I fish it, what part of shoreline grass to target, and which banks are best for fishing a swim jig on! Hope it helps!

As they say, "..in the same boat.." on this...
Still learning on what trailers to use and - how to use them overall - the speed and action, etc. ...
I did get a huge gar on the Hack Attack jig. LOL...
