So just to update everyone and vent a little... I got the powerpack replaced today and went to replace the eye with a "NEW" one I got off ebay advertised with the most current part number. However as I took it out of the box and was about to start screwing it down i see a part number on the part that is different from the number on the box... it is a omc/brp eye... just not the eye that matches the box and newest part number. My thought that it is the used eye that the seller put back in the new part box. Great so now I am waiting for another eye before I can test.

Again thanks everyone for your input.

That happens sometimes with superseded part numbers. could be the same eye with a different part number.

The podding on it wasn't exactly clean either. I have trouble believing a manufacturer took an old part and put it in a new part numbered box. There is a reason they changed the part number.

Sounds like you got ripped off, Take it up with E-Bay or if you got it cheap enough why not try it, I think the box is for a throttle cam, I just replaced one a couple of weeks ago.. Clean the sensor with water and a lint free rag, if your going to use it. I work on E-Bay a lot they can help.

Seller agreed to a return. Says her husband bought it from a marina but never used it.

Finally got out to test after power pack and eye replacement. 4500 rpm. Frustrating. Guess I'll pull and clean the carbs.
